Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive
is an annual campaign sponsored by Communities In Schools of Moore County, in partnership with the UPS Store, Wal-Mart, First Bank, Staples, the United Way, and Muirfield Broadcasting 102.5FM. Donated school supplies are distributed to all 22 Moore County Public Schools. Monetary donations are used to supplement student activities throughout the school year. Click for more information
FirstBook ‘Read to Me Day’
FirstBook “Read to Me Day” is a partnership between CISNC and FirstBook (McGraw Hill) that provides Moore County students with 6000 new books each year. First edition books are distributed personally to children throughout the County to take home, read and enjoy as their own. Click for more information
Gang Awareness Event
Preventing youths from joining gangs is a formidable task. Based on early risk factors for gang involvement, prevention efforts must begin in the early childhood years. Prevention and early intervention measures must include a variety of programs and policies aimed at reducing early problem behaviors, school failure, child delinquency, and later gang membership. Mentor Day
The COMPASS Project is federal grant program from the Department of Public Instruction – Safe and Drug Free Schools. The mentoring program is administered by Communities In Schools of Moore County and based at Southern Middle School in Aberdeen, North Carolina. Click for more information
